הרמת כוסית בשבי ישראל לכבוד השנה החדשה והתערוכה החדשה
Just in time for our annual toast to the Jewish new year, Shavei Israel's "Ma'ani Center", a collaboration with Israel's Ministry of Culture and Sport, inaugurated the beautiful photo exhibit "From India to Israel: A Photographic Journey" with magnificent works of photographers Laura Ben-David and Dr. Yehuda Schwartz.
The photos are devoted to the Bnei Menashe communities of Manipur and Mizoram, and their aliyah to Israel, and depict some of the most important chapters of their story: life in their traditional villages in India, the long journey to the State of Israel, the beginning of their new lives in the holy land, weddings, IDF service, learning Torah and many more happy events.
The exhibit opening included a festive toast to the Jewish new year and speeches by Shavei Israel's Chairman and Founder Michael Freund, emissaries and staff of the organization and, of course, the talented photographers themselves.
