When Shavei Israel’s director of marketing and new media Laura Ben-David found herself traveling to Boca Raton, Florida, the neighborhood where Simi, our dedicated volunteer lives, Simi's parents, Sharon & Steven Langert, opened their home to host a talk about some of the lost and hidden communities that Shavei Israel works with.
Her topic: “One Nation, Many Faces,” focuses on some of the communities that Shavei Israel helps such as the Bnei Menashe in India, the “Hidden” Jews of Poland, and Bnei Anousim in Spain, Portugal and South America, and includes a beautiful multimedia presentation that transports the audience to exotic lands.
Laura says the response to her presentation was “really positive. The people who attended enjoyed and were very excited to hear about communities whose existence they were largely unaware of.”
