Galletas de Huellitas (‘Virtual’ Cookie Bake in Chile)
(Cookie recipe below)
As part of the modified programs during the coronavirus pandemic, all of our communities have resorted to creativity to keep their members engaged.
In Chile a fun, creative – and tasty! – project got thirteen children, aged 6-14, involved. Enjoy seeing their delighted faces… then make the cookies yourself with the included recipe.
The activity was carried out via Skype, so they could all see each other and see what everyone was doing. The children and parents participated and everyone enjoyed!
We discovered that by sharing the computer screen we can have children watch educational videos as the start of study activities.

• 175 g butter at room temperature
• 125 g white sugar
• 1 egg M
• 250 g flour
• Jam in your favorite flavor
Preparation method:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
Combine the butter, sugar and the egg, with an electric mixer, beat for about 5 minutes.
Then add a tablespoon of flour at a time and continue beating, until all the flour is incorporated (about 2 cups)
Once the mixture is finished, prepare two soup spoons, and a tray lined with baking paper.
Place walnut-sized balls 5 centimeters apart so that they don’t stick as they grow.
Then with the thumb or index finger dipped in water, sink the finger a little into the center of the ball, and place a small amount of jam or chocolate.
This is repeated for each ball placed on the tray.
Bake approximately 25 minutes, or until they brown a little
When you take them out of the oven, let them cool on a rack.
Don’t forget to take photos of your pretty cookies before you eat them!
