You CAN make a difference!

We at Shavei Israel are deeply concerned about the ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur, India that has devastated the Bnei Menashe community there.

A total of 292 Bnei Menashe families (numbering 1,190 men, women and children) have been forced to flee their homes in the past few weeks since the violence began between the Meitei and Kuki tribes and most have been left destitute.

Shavei Israel has opened relief centers and/or are providing aid to these families in Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Moreh and in neighboring Mizoram supplying them with temporary shelter, food, clothing and even the most basic needs as many of the refugees were forced to flee their homes and leave all their belongings behind.

The chaotic situation has presented many challenges to Shavei’s staff in Manipur but we are working around the clock to assist as many people as possible. This operation is costing us a small fortune as we are spending well over $10,000 per week to help the refugees through this crisis.

People want to help, though it’s hard to know even where to begin… But you CAN can make a difference! For less then $5 a day – really! – you can feed a family; $35 can feed them for a week!
