A Torah Scroll Dedication in Colombia
The Beith Hillel community located in Bogota, Colombia had a very nice surprise last month and their happiness was doubled when Rabbi Shimon Yechua, emissary of Shavei Israel in Colombia, brought a new Torah scroll from the United States to the synagogue, a donation from an American philanthropist.
The celebration of this recent holidays were even more special than usual, as the whole community danced with the torah and embraced it, and both on Purim and Passover, and, especially, looking forward to the holiday of Shavuot, which celebrates the actual giving of the Torah.
