Sukkot around the globe: India & Nigeria
Last week the whole Jewish world in Israel and diaspora celebrated Sukkot – one of shalosh regalim, the three Pilgrimage Festivals, – when it’s customary to sit in the sukkah, a temporary hut used during the holiday week for sleeping and having festive meals.
Shavei Israel was very glad to receive plenty of pictures from different parts of the world and various communities we work with and see the joy of people building beautiful sukkahs and sharing meals together. In this part of our review we would like to show you some highlights of Sukkot in the Bnei Menashe community of India and Israel, and Igbo Jews of Nigeria.
