Chanukah around the world
Chanukah, the festival of lights, is here, uniting the Jewish people all over the world by its magic atmosphere of joy, hope and anticipation, as it has for millennia. Let’s take a look at different traditions and celebration highlights from some of our various communities all over the world!
We shall start with India, where Bnei Menashe of local states of Manipur and Mizoram gather to light the Chanukah candles.

While most of the Subbotnik Jews of former Soviet Union are still celebrating Chanukah in the Diaspora, a group of those who already made aliyah to Israel recently participated in a lesson delivered by Rabbi Shlomo Zelig Avrasin in Beit Shemesh, where most of the group live.
Some of the hidden Jews of Poland participated in activities organized for them by Rabbi Avi Baumol in Krakow and Rabbi David Szychowski in Lodz.
