Shavei Israel communities celebrate Tu B’Shevat
Shavei Israel communities, from South America to Eastern Europe, celebrated Tu B’Shevat, known as “The New Year of the Trees”, and shared with us some beautiful pictures of people gathering together, learning, partying and planting trees. Here’s a brief, but colorful review of these beautiful celebrations.
In Lodz, Poland, Rabbi David Szychowski organized a community event that took place in a local synagogue.
The Jews of Vysoki, Russia, celebrated Tu B’Shevat by preparing a special kids program in a Sunday school. Currently the whole place is covered with snow, so the participants had to plant flowers and trees inside the building. Anyway, children were happy to learn more about traditions of this holiday and its meaning in Eretz Israel.
The Subbotnik Jewish community of Beit Shemesh also had a traditional seder Tu B’Shevat with Rabbi Shlomo Zelig Avrasin.
Now let’s move to South America and enjoy pictures of plenty of local communities.
