Lag B’Omer around the world

Shavei Israel communities, along with the rest of the Jewish world, recently celebrated Lag B’Omer – a meaningful and beautiful holiday related to the personality of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, one of the most eminent disciples of Rabbi Akiva and the author of the mystical Book of Zohar. Probably the most famous tradition of this day is lighting bonfires – and you can see plenty of them all over the globe on the pictures below, spreading the light and a very special atmosphere of the day.
