From India to Israel: A Photographic Journey
If you find yourself in Givat Shaul in Jerusalem, step into Shavei Israel’s Ma’ani Center, a collaboration with Israel’s Ministry of Culture and Sport, for a photo exhibit that’s an educational experience in addition to being a visual treat.
The beautiful photo exhibit, “From India to Israel: A Photographic Journey,” has the magnificent works of photographers Laura Ben-David and Dr. Yehuda Schwartz.
The photos are devoted to the Bnei Menashe communities of Manipur and Mizoram, and their aliyah to Israel, and depict some of the most important chapters of their story: life in their traditional villages in India, the long journey to the State of Israel, the beginning of their new lives in the holy land, weddings, IDF service, learning Torah and many more happy events.
