Bringing Jewish support – and siddurim – to Cuba
Shavei Israel has a new Emissary in a most likely of places: Cuba. And we are all very excited about providing this community with much-desired Jewish support!
Rabbi David Córdoba, himself born in Cuba, emigrated to Israel in 2018 after his own personal quest where he discovered his family’s Jewish roots among the Bnei Anousim. Now married with three children and living in Beit Shemesh, Israel, Rabbi Córdoba received his rabbinical ordination from the Beit Hamidrash Hasefaradí in Jerusalem.
Rabbi Córdoba was thrilled at the opportunity to go to where he was born, and help the Jewish community there, and we’re happy to support his efforts. He plans to bring 20 Hebrew-Spanish Bircat Shelomó prayer books (that’s as many as he can carry!) You can purchase and dedicate these siddurim for $30 each to help defray the costs. Just click on the button below and select ‘Siddur for Cuba’ under ‘Choose a Project.’ Feel free to add a dedication!
