A new Torah in Honduras: Received at year’s end, read on Rosh Hashana
We are so proud to see the brotherhood and support that exists among our communities. Just before Rosh Hashanah, the Shemaya ve Avtalion Community of Armenia, El Salvador brought a badly-needed Torah scroll to the Derech HaHaim Community of Honduras, so that they should be able to perform the holiday services.
The Derech HaChaim community celebrated receiving the new Torah scroll with a traditional “Hachnasat Sefer Torah” celebration which is typically a very exciting event. And with even greater rejoicing, the community was able to celebrate Rosh Hashanah properly.
May our communities continue to be strengthened in their observance of the Torah and the commandments!
