Tu B’Shevat around the world

Tu B’Shevat around the world

Many Jewish families around the world have a tradition to have a Tu B’Shevat ‘seder’, or ceremonial meal. Just as at a Passover seder, symbolic foods are eaten in a special order in celebration of the important role trees play in our life. It’s traditional to eat Israeli fruits, such as figs, dates, and carobs, as well as planting trees, especially in Israel.

We were thrilled to receive so many photos from our communities in countries all over, showing the joy and excitement in Rosh HaShanah La’Ilanot, literally “New Year of the Trees”.
