New booklet published for Subbotnik Jews just in time for Pesach

Just in time for Pesach, Shavei Israel has published a new informational booklet for the Subbotnik Jewish community on the festival of freedom. The new booklet is the latest in a series published by Shavei Israel for the small Subbotnik Jewish community in Beit Shemesh, Israel, and the larger one in and around Visoky, Russia. The last three booklets covered the Jewish fast days (and came out in time for the Fast of Esther that takes place prior to Purim), traditions observed for Tu B’Shvat, and the customs around Rosh Chodesh, the first day of the Jewish month.
The latest booklet on Pesach includes the full text in Russian of the Haggadah, which is read during the Passover Seder; recipes for traditional Pesach culinary delights; and explanatory and inspirational articles written by Shavei Israel’s emissary to the Subbotnik Jews, Rabbi Zelig Avrasin, as well as Rabbi Uri Sherki, Rabbi Akiva Tatz and Rabbi Tzipporah Charitan.
Two hundred copies were printed – half for Israel and half that were sent to Visoky. The first batch was pressed into immediate use during the community’s annual pre-Passover party at the Netzach Menashe synagogue in Beit Shemesh, which took place on Wednesday earlier this week.
